Almost all of us have had the experience of deciding determinedly to start some new healthy, productive habit or stop some destructive one - and then dropping the ball.
The problem is that human beings are not carved from a single block of stone. We may have more than one motivation present in us at a time. We may be conflicted.
- Yes, you want to exercise but you also want to relax and take it easy.
- Yes, you want to eat food that is good for us but you also may have incredible enjoyment out of eating that special something that's soooooo good (you know what it is).
Parts Therapy is a universal tool of hypnotherapy. In hypnosis you can actually ask the part of you that you would like to change, WHY. We say that to our self all of the time... I don't know why I keep eating that, I don't know why I don't go to the gym. I don't know why, but your subconscious does. In hypnosis we can help line up your conflicting motivations by negotiating with them.
Remember a time in your life when things were going incredibly well; almost magically. Progress was effortless and you didn’t have to motivate yourself – you acted without even thinking about it. That’s the experience of being fully congruent – all your inner motivations lined up toward one goal. Wouldn't it be nice to feel that again?
This is a group session and as such will be more introvert with less prompting, but if you have issues that you would like to get answers to, parts therapy is amazing. The answers that pop into your head will make total sense to you, but will not be what you would have ever expected.
